The grape has ancient origins, arrived in the Mediterranean with the first settlements of the Greek colonies. Color brilliant ruby , the nose is initially winey, then complex with aging. It presents distinctly varietal fruity aromas of rose petals, ciligia cherries, cloves, black pepper, licorice and tobacco. The palate is dry, fruity, supported by a strong freshness, tannic much to often require aging in large or small timber.
